It had been a rather hard lifestyle for this old couple with the problems of ageing and others, and hand to mouth living. Things were still manageable before this lockdown was established. By begging and collecting from random places, one meal a day was possible. However, after the lockdown, with no ration card or related documents, even that one possible meal became impossible. With the social distancing and curfew norms in place, it became impossible for them to get food. Fortunately, Radio Hirakhand with support from SUPRATIVA and GOONJ was able to receive their call for help in time. Dry ration kits (rice, dal, oil, salt, soya badi, masala etc.) were arranged for them. Now, they are happy and appreciated this selfless effort.
